Green Valley Seed
Corn/Soybean Sales Lead


Under the direction of the manager, Green Valley Seed Corn/Soybeans Sales Lead is responsible for profitable sales and market share growth for Corn, Soybeans, Wheat seed products.  The Sales Lead will work within Green Valley to provide seed sales leadership.  The Sales Lead will also provide support and make sales calls with current dealers to growers in targeted areas.  This position will also work to establish relationships and sell directly to growers in other designated areas.




 This position will lead, direct, and initiate sales calls with targeted growers promoting the value Green Valley can add to their farms.  The Sales lead will provide leadership to dealers to effectively segment producers and develop strategies focusing on making sales calls to targeted growers.  
In conjunction with the manager, the Sales Lead will implement seed marketing programs that will result in a seed market share increase in Green Valley Seed, LLC. This position will be responsible for procuring production growers and acres for our proprietary seed line.

Applicants must be detailed oriented with excellent communication skills, as this position will require much record keeping, reporting, and forecasting to various genetic and trait suppliers. 

The Sales Lead will train and assist dealers to make whole farm proposals.

 Assist and provide technical leadership to sales people by developing a strong seed program (master plots, strip plots and side by sides) that includes variety selection, signing and harvest data collection.

Provide support to sales people on producer and land manager meetings, plot tours and complaint resolution.


Business Operations

 Provide weekly reports to manager on activities and sales activity in the territory.


 Perform other duties as assigned.



Normally requires a college degree or equivalent thereof, plus 5-7 years sales experience. 

Demonstrate knowledge of seed products.


Must have Certified Crop Advisor accreditation or acquire within 5 years.


Proven sales leadership and demonstrate closing techniques.


Proven ability to build relationships, identify producer needs and make whole farm proposals.


Proven professional communication, customer service, interpersonal, presentation, and persuasion skills.


Demonstrate planning, time management and organizational skills.


Demonstrated the ability to be self-directed, make decisions, and work in a team-oriented environment.


Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.


Ability to lift seed bags up to 70 pounds.
